Building a new learning culture

With social purpose at the core of their company, Places for People put a heavy emphasis on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Their strategy is supported by multiple Employee Resource Groups, and a specially-appointed EDI Officer in Nicole Egglestone. But prior to partnering with Thrive, there was a gap in the strategy: They needed learning content to bolster it.

In 2019, Places for People began seeking out a content provider to fill this gap. The large workforce – a lot of whom were deskless – were also in need of a more data-driven culture that had historically been missing from the company. The team’s search for engaging content that ticked all these boxes brought them to Thrive Content: The off-the-shelf content provider with thousands of relevant resources and a full wrap-around service.

How to create the perfect learning library

Collaborating closely with the team of experts behind Thrive Content, Places for People built their new learning library packed full of relevant, engaging resources. The implementation process was smooth and efficient, lasting just 12 weeks – and at the end of the process, their EDI strategy took on a whole new shape, supported by an extensive library of content.

Places for People’s Employee Resource Groups were an integral part of the project, having been given access to review the Thrive Content to ensure it was as relevant, accessible and inclusive as possible.

Alongside relevant EDI resources, the Thrive Content library also provided data skills to fill the gap that was previously missing.

Learning variety, business success

Since implementing Thrive Content, Places for People have seen a huge boost to their learning culture. One of the things that makes Places for People so unique is the diversity of their workforce. Within that workforce, people have different needs and ways of learning – and this is reflected in the variety of the Thrive Content materials.

Made up of mostly bite-size modules, Thrive Content allows the team to easily and quickly digest relevant learning materials in the flow of work. Collaborating with their Customer Success Manager Rhys, Places for People are able to suggest adaptations to the content catalogue to ensure it always aligns with their goals.

"Absolutely, I'd recommend Thrive. The campaigns are pretty much pre-empting what is going on in the world right now, and what changes. They're always on the ball."
