Sumo Digital & THRIVE win Learning Excellence Award

Pop the cork! Thrive's partnership with Sumo Digital was recognised as one of the most effective and impactful initiatives in L&D at the 2022 Learning Excellence Awards.

We took home the Digital category prize for the way Sumo used their fully-branded Thrive platform, DOJO, to connect, engage and upskill 1,200 employees and 15 videogame development studios around the world. As the videogame industry evolves at lightning-fast speeds, learning opportunities, innovation and collaborative knowledge sharing count for so much - for employees and businesses alike.  That’s why we couldn’t be prouder to be part of the Sumo journey, and their celebrations as Jenny and her awesome team get the recognition they deserve.

Award-winning impact

Sumo implemented our Learning Platform in May 2020 to connect their people to one another and personalised learning opportunities, and since then, they’ve achieved some incredible results. To highlight those successes, they worked with our in-house team of Data Analysts from the Thrive Impact team, who help organisations measure the real impact of learning activity. These included:

  • 95% active users;
  • 89% user-generated content, showcasing true, self-directed learning;
  • A 42% increase in overall talent;
  • A 10% increase in promotions; and
  • Exceptional Best Companies survey results which saw Sumo named the 12th Best Large Company to Work For in the UK.

We don't rest on our laurels

On May 19th, we teamed up with Sumo again to compete against the other finalists for ‘Best Use of Digital Technologies’ at the UK Employee Experience Awards, featuring the likes of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Bupa, Adobe and Care UK. Read about the results here.
