More than mandatory training

Until recently, mandatory training had dominated the learning agenda at Staffline - but it was time for a change. The current compliance system was no longer meeting the needs of the business, or their learners.

Staffline needed a new, modern learning platform that could offer technical, role-based learning as well as leadership and soft skills training for their 2,000 employees.

How Thrive met the challenge

Together with Staffline, Thrive helped to deliver a slick, fully-branded learning experience platform that emulated the look and feel of social media channels, rather than a traditional LMS.

Barry Davison, Head of Learning and Development, called it “the Netflix of learning” to describe how much Thrive helped them mirror the experiences their employees have in their personal lives. This doesn’t only apply to look and feel; Staffline now offers a personalised approach to learning that uses AI to recommend relevant content to each individual.

Countdown to launch

The L&D team at Staffline ran a campaign titled “Learning is about to change in our business” 6 - 8 weeks before launching Thrive, in order to build intrigue and excitement for the roll-out. They also put together a focus group of “learning influencers” to get people talking, collect feedback and spread their marketing messages around the organisation. Learners picked the platform up so quickly, they saw a 71% engagement rate and 9,000+ content completions in their first few weeks.
